The AlmsHouse Charity

Applicants must have been born or have at anytime resided for 10 years in the civil parishes of Dalton, Gayles, Kirby Hill, New Forest, Newsham, Ravensworth or Whashton.

Accommodation Application Form

These almshouses were originally known as the Hospital of St John the Baptist. The hospital originally accommodated 27 people. They were founded in 1556 by the Reverend John Dakyn. The Kirby Hill Grammar School was founded in the same year.
